I'm a former award-winning news reporter-turned organizational communications professional/content specialist. I specialize in planning and producing digital, social and print content – including marketing collateral, contributed articles/earned media, case studies, ad and website copy, blogs and social media content, RFP responses, presentations, and reports. I'm particularly strong at creating, improving and expanding the appeal, clarity and presentation of often-complicated information. I've spent a career assessing and transforming complex, often-contradictory situations, issues and information into easier-to-understand messages and content.
Technically, I'm proficient at a number of digital content management systems, social media platforms and email- and text-blasting services. I have a track record in building and sustaining social media audiences for organizations. I also have extensive experience working with designers and printers on printed materials.
In addition to regularly writing news reports and commentary under my own byline, I regularly ghostwrite for other professionals, and am now a published author. My book, Hell AND High Water:The Battle to Save the New Orleans Times-Picayune, was commercially published in late 2013, and is recipient of three national awards to-date. It showcases my ability to deploy individual stories to illustrate and humanize an organization's or industry's situation or struggles.
